Search is one of the primary ways to navigate any website, but directory websites are often overlooked. We've introduced a new way to search for tools in your directory and access quick links.

Search

You can now search for tools in your directory using the search bar. You can also use the quick links to access tools directly.

The search bar is hidden by default. Users can show it by clicking the search icon in the header or by pressing Cmd/Crtl + K on your keyboard.

The integrated search functionality employs basic text matching, laying the essential groundwork for Dirstarter users to implement more advanced search mechanisms such as full-text search, fuzzy matching, semantic search, and beyond.

Quick links

Before users begin typing their search query, they are presented with a set of predefined links for quick access to your site's most valuable pages.

If the user currently signed in is an admin, they will see a set of helpful links for managing the directory.
